I find the bars plenty stiff enough when sprinting but don't think I would want any think more flexible. What I like about the FSA's is the flat section on the tops, I also like the shape of the drops and the fact the bottom section extends quite far backwards and also flares out a bit. 6 degree flare at drops so width at hoods is 16mm narrower than bar size. ![]() Egg-shaped top section for wider hand surface. Speaking of branding, plain/matt black is preferable. 3T Ergonova Pro Drop Handlebars are aluminum bars that have an ultra-shallow, compact bend, with a broad, flat top surface and easy transition on to the hoods, a new standard in comfort riding. The aluminum Ergonova Pro is a universally-loved bar combining strength, reliability and a supreme, fatigue-fighting comfort level due to their innovative flat-top design. I'd rather not pay the 60+ for another pair so I'm looking for alternatives The 3T ErgoNova Pro Alloy Road Handlebar are compact with wings. 3T is an industry leader with good reason, and for years now have been able to claim dominance in the compact marketplace with the Ergonova line. This has led me to looking at what else is out there which is similar in shape etc, and as I will be replacing the bars on my 2 existing bikes plus the new bike so will need to buy 3 pairs, cost is a consideration, I suppose £50-£60 per set of bars is justifiable, (also as I am a bike tart I also will replace the stems and seat posts to match as I like all of these to be the same branding). I've got 3T ErgoNova Pro Alloy Road bars on my best bike and want similar on my Sunday club ride bike. Taken June 2016.Up to now I have been using FSA Wing Pro Compact Bars on my bikes in size 44cm, however I am feeling like these are a little too wide for me now so have been looking for some in a 42cm width, but herein lies the problem as they only seem to be available in gloss white nowadays!!!! This is a picture of the bike as it is now, with ISM saddle. It is literally less comfortable for me to lay in bed than it is for me to be on the bike. Zero pain, zero stress on back, if I could sleep on the bike I would. After dinner and some time with Junior I went back down and rode another 40 min or so. Ramped it up pretty quickly, had to stop because the Missus called to let me know she was picking up Junior at daycare with a close-to-103 fever. Immediately had zero pain, felt great to move my legs, felt great to pedal. ![]() Back twinging the whole time, threatening to give, which results in my legs basically losing 100% strength and I just collapse. Gingerly walked downstairs, grasping handrail for support, carefully changed (I can't lean over halfway so I hold the shorts by the bibs and fish my feet through the leg openings), got my shoes on (sitting on toolbox is okay). So to try and get myself to sweat, to circulate some blood, etc, I got on the bike/trainer today. ![]() ![]() I happened to get sick as well, last Wed or Thu, to the point I left work early on Fri (worked 3 hours Wed, off Thu). Whereas a bar like the FSA Wing Pro has a 145mm drop making it very difficult for a rider with small hands to reach the brake levers while in the drops, the 123mm Ergonova drop is much closer to what one would find in a shallow, classic shape bar, giving greater ease of access to the levers and other controls. The top section is eggshaped for a wider hand surface and youll find a 6 degree flare at the drops for an even wider stance. I threw out my back Saturday? with the big snow and have been unable to do much of anything for the weekend and today. 3T Ergonova Pro Handlebar The 3T Ergonova Pro Drop Handlebar is an aluminum bar that has an ultrashallow compact bend with a broad flat top surface and easy transition on to the hoods. What I didn't remember and what I realized again today is just how comfortable my bike is on the drops. FSA Gossamer Wing Compact Handlebars feature alloy construction and the ergonomic addition of a flat top section. FSA Compacts are another similar option in either alu or carbon. The shapes are similar, but the Ergonova has a flat section across the top of the bar and if Im correct, it has even less drop and reach. Wow, that's a wild sounding stem for sure! boysa wrote: I bought the Ergosum to replace the FSA WingPro Compact I had, and sent it back for the Ergonova.
